To Build the Church
“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.'”
— 1 Peter 1:13; 15-16 NASB95
Put Your Faith to the Test...
For God’s glory, the proof of our faith is to be tested by fire, becoming something more precious than gold (1 Peter 1:6-7). Will the foundation of your faith survive the furnace, or will you suffer loss after passing through the fire (1 Cor. 3:15)?
Challenge Currently Held Beliefs...
Not to live in a persistent state of doubt or skepticism, but to ensure that you’re truly following Scripture. Test yourselves to see that you are in the faith; examine yourselves (2 Cor. 3:5)! Any belief grounded in Truth will not falter under the weight of examination.
Trust in Scripture Alone
The Bible gives us direct access to Truth, being the inspired and living word of God. However, to understand it correctly, we need the help of the Holy Spirit, along with a sufficient understanding of the language and culture the text was written within.
Verse of the Week
Christianity is not about trading one form of slavery for another. Christ didn’t rescue us so we could live under constant anxiety about whether we’re doing enough to stay in God’s good graces. The freedom Paul talks about is freedom from trying to earn righteousness through performance, rule-keeping, or religious striving.
That doesn’t mean freedom to live however we want. It means freedom to relate to God without fear — to grow, to learn, and even to wrestle with hard questions from a place of security, not insecurity. We obey not to be accepted, but because we already are.
“Stand firm,” then, is a call to resist slipping back into systems that make faith feel like a burden Christ already carried for us.
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 NASB95

My Testimony
Faith isn’t meant to stay shallow. My journey — from childhood belief to life-altering encounters with God overseas — is what led me to pursue a deeper, more refined understanding of Him.
